Charles Mason, Chief Curator of the Gardiner Museum will talk
about the
Bell Collection of Chinese Blue and White Porcelain from the
Ming and
Qing Dynasties

Free Hands on Clay Programs
Try your hand at creating a miniature Terra Cotta Warrior. Thousands
of
life-sized warriors and horses were made of clay and buried with
China's
First Emperor at Xi'an. The Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses were
one of
the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century
Make
your own warrior, with details inspired by images from the Army
of
Emperor Qin Shihuangdi! Or make a clay model of your Chinese
horoscope
animal. This is the year of the Rat!
There will be live classical Chinese Music played in the foyer

Dance Company - is an exciting multi-arts program of live performances.
May 9-10 at 8pm at the Enwave Theatre - Harbourfront Centre in

Michael and Margo Timmins (of Cowboy Junkies) w/ Andy Maize and
Josh Finlayson (of Skydiggers), dancers Dana Gingras, Sarah Doucet,
Andrea Nann, visual artist Shary Boyle w/ Doug Paisley, choreography
by Danny Grossman, film by Jennifer Baichwal and Nick de Pencier
and MORE! The purpose of this event is to bring together unique
and diverse performers in a public celebration of the arts. Our
goal is to build bridges between different artistic and cultural
communities and to introduce the public and new audiences to
a range of artistic disciplines. An Asian Heritage Month event
In addition to the evening performances, a 35-minute student
matinee (short program) followed by a 20-minute question and
answer period will be presented on May 8, 2008 in association
with the Harbourfront Centre - School Visits Program. Up to 180
students will also be offered a series of morning workshops led
by some of the *Shebang* artists and artist educators from HC-SVP
exploring some of the themes and mediums presented on the program
in more detail.

As an opening event for Across Summer Program 2008, City Mosaic
is a city expedition race to promote appreciation of the multicultural
richness of different ethnic groups in Toronto . The word, Mosaic
, represents the beauty of the multicultural diversity of Toronto
. Participants have to form a team of four members and explore
the city using only public transportation. Each team will be
given about 100 questions as a guide to find out the uniqueness
of different parts of Toronto .
